Printing Techniques
Monoprint
- First, I chose a couple of pictures that I like, pinned on my Identity board.
- I used newspapper to cover the table. I spread few pages all around the table.
- After this, I took a "transparent plate" and painted it black with a paint roller.
- To ensure that there are not too much paint on it, I put a sheet of newspaper on the plate and took it off.
- Then I picked one of the picture printed, put it on the plate and drawn over it with a pencil.
- I removed the picture from the plate... and the monoprint was done. Unfortunately, it was not well-done.
- I made several attempts to get a decent result.
Screen Printing
- I had to cut the letters out from my typography work, did on the computer.
- I used a utility knife to cut the letters out. Of course, for safety, I used a board to protect the table from the knife. In addition, each times I was done with the knife, I closed it.
- After having cut my letters from the sheet, I took a frame, with some kind of transparent film.
- I took a plate and poured on it paint. I tried to do a purple pait, so I mixed blue and red.
- I placed my typography sheet under it, and poured the paint on the frame.
- I used a "wooden object" to spread out the paint.
- Then, I removed the frame and it was kind of done.
